George III, Wales Patina Silver

This Wales crownsized Patina retro-pattern is based on the portrait of King George III that the Bank of England used on their emergency coinage in the early 1800s. In fact I think this portrait is as good as that one. These Patina pieces are struck in Proof Sterling Silver. I don’t know what the mintages are, but I believe they are rather small. We bought this lot just recently from a dealer, but we don’t know where he got them from. You have the bust of King George III on one side and the symbol of which country it represents on the reverse. All are in Proof Sterling Silver.

Picture of George III, GB Incurrupta Patina Cupro-nickel

George III, GB Incurrupta Patina Cupro-nickel

This is a Patina or retro-pattern to show what something might have looked like, had it been issued at the time. These are privately minted to the highest quality and are full crownsized 38mm. This is the George III pattern Crown issued with a large head of George III and an inscription that has caused it to be known as the Incorrupta Pattern. It is struck in Prooflike cupro-nickel to the highest standard. Because we bought these years ago, we can offer them at what seems almost a crazy low price. If they were made today, they would cost a heck of a lot more money.

Ireland, George III Patina Pewter

We were told by the people who struck the Patina crownsized retro patterns that striking anything in Pewter was something they did not relish. It is hard to strike, it is messy to strike and they would rather use another metal. But these George III Ireland Patina retro patterns are struck in Proof Pewter and we think they look great. Forget the work and the mess the finished product is great. Because they were struck in Pewter, the mintages are limited. Get them while you can…
