This wonderful colourful set comprises the complete denomination range for Burundi, a landlocked country which is also one of the smallest on the African continent. Our set, dated between 2018 and 2021, comprises 5 denominations ranging from the 500 francs up to the magnificent 10,000 francs (P51-54). The fronts all feature an outline map of the country with different vignettes inside the map of shipping, a banana grove, rice harvest, hills, and fronds. Illustrations on the backs include a coffee plant, long-horned cattle, a pineapple plant, drummers and dancers, and portraits of President Ndadaye and Prince Rwagasore alongside a crocodile, bird, antelope, wildebeest, and hippo. This 30,000 riels note was issued in 2021 to mark the 30th Anniversary of the Paris Peace Agreement of October 1991. This treaty marked the official ending of the Cambodia - Vietnamese War also referred to as the Third Indo China War (P-New) This is a larger than usual note with a portrait of King Norodom Sihanouk on the front with flowers. The back shows Techo Hun Seh holding up the right hand of Preah Borom Ratanak Kaudh. Other illustrations include the Royal Palace, the Independence Monument in Phnom Penh and the Eiffel Tower in Paris where the Peace Agreement was signed. The agreement led to the first ever occasion in which the UN took over as the government of a state. The agreement was signed by nineteen countries. Uncirculated.

In 1967, Canada had year long celebrations to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation. Part of the celebrations included the issue of a special 1 dollar note (P84a) It followed the regular design for the 1 dollar bill but had the unusual feature of the serial numbers being replaced by the date of the centenary 1867-1967. We are delighted to offer Crisp Uncirculated examples of this very unusual dollar.
In 2017 Canada celebrated 150 years of the Confederation of Canada 1867-2017. One of the ways it marked this milestone was with the issue of a 10-dollar polymer note which represented all the regions of the country and celebrated the work and lives of 4 prominent Canadians. The portraits of John Macdonald, George-Etienne Cartier, James Gladstone and Agnes Campbell Macphail appear on the front alongside a broad see through security panel. The regions of Canada are represented on the back with a view of Capilano Lake, Twin Sisters Mountain, wheatfields, the Kipana River, the coast of New Brunswick and the Northern Lights above Wood Buffalo Park. We offer Uncirculated examples of the new Canada Polymer 10-dollar bill released in 2018. (PNew) It is a first for a Canadian banknote. It is printed vertically. For the first time, a Canadian-born woman appears on her own on a Canadian banknote. She was Viola Desmond, a businesswoman who, in 1946, challenged racial segregation by refusing to leave a whites-only area of the Roseland Theatre. It was the most publicized incident of racial discrimination in Canadian history. The back has an illustration of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights alongside an extract from the Canadian Charter of Rights. Uncirculated.
This Canada 2 dollar, dated 1974, was the last but one to be issued before the denomination was suspended. (P86) It is a vivid red and on the front to the right features a bareheaded portrait of a youthful Queen Elizabeth II with the arms of the country to the left. The back is dominated by a scene from the far North of Canada showing a group of Inuit men preparing for a fishing expedition. A charming note and in Crisp Uncirculated.
There is much talk as the whether countries, outside of the UK, issuing banknotes with the monarch’s portrait would continue now that Charles is King. Countries like Canada retained Queen Elizabeth’s portrait on the 20 dollar denomination and we can offer it now. Canada marked the fact that Queen Elizabeth II became the longest-reigning British monarch in September 2015 by issuing a special 20-dollar note (P111). These 20 dollars which are printed on polymer plastic have a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the front. In a see-through security panel to the right, there is a holographic strip which includes a youthful portrait of Queen Elizabeth taken by Karsh and the words declaring, in both English and French, that hers is a historic reign. Prior to 1972, the Cayman Islands used Jamaican Currency. In 1971, a law was passed initiating a Cayman Islands currency. These 1 dollar bills issued by the Cayman Islands Currency Board are amongst the first to be issued. We know this because they all have the prefix A/1. They are in Uncirculated condition. (P1a.) The front boasts a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Anthony Buckley. In it she is shown wearing the Queen Alexandra Kokoshik Tiara, the Queen’s Festoon necklace and various Royal Family Orders, pinned to the Riband of the Order of the Garter.
